Created to Create: Using Our Gifts for God’s Glory
Updated: Sep 25
Creativity begins with God. From the beauty of creation itself to the unique gifts He has placed within each of us, we see the fingerprints of a Creator who delights in bringing forth something beautiful, useful, and meaningful. And because we are made in His image, perhaps the desire to create is one of the many ways we reflect Him.

Creativity Takes Many Forms
We sometimes hear the word creative and immediately think of an artist, musician, or writer. But creativity can show up in countless ways. It may be found in a meal lovingly prepared, a garden tended, a piece of furniture built by hand, a room made welcoming, a thoughtful gift, or words chosen to encourage someone who needs them.
Our gifts won't all look alike—and they're not supposed to. God has given each of us different abilities, interests, and ways of serving. What matters isn't whether our gift seems impressive, but what we do with what He has placed in our hands.
Using What He Has Given Us
Scripture reminds us that our gifts are meant to be used. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10
Something doesn't have to be grand to have purpose. A gift offered with love can encourage someone, meet a need, bring beauty into an ordinary day, or point another person toward God. Even the simplest act of creativity can become an offering when we place it in His hands.
Perhaps the question isn't, “Am I creative?” but rather, “What has God placed in my hands, and how can I use it for His glory?”
Created for His Glory
Creativity is one more way we can reflect the One who created us. Whatever your gift may be, don't underestimate what God can do with it when it is offered to Him.
Create with joy. Serve with love. And trust God to use what He has placed in your hands in ways you may never see.
“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31
